AS Regis Philbin remembers it, lifelong lothario Oleg Cassini, who wooed Grace Kelly and wed Gene Tierney, captivated a young and not-yet-married Kathie Lee Johnson at Regine's one night in 1983. "Both were single and sparks were flying. Had things worked out differently, there might have been no Frank Gifford in Kathie Lee's future," Philbin said. The talkative chat-show host was at the swank St. Regis reception that Cassini's widow, Marianne, hosted on what would have been his 93rd birthday. The athletic couturier - a White Russian count who picked up harness-racing in his 60s and made a hole-in-one at Deepdale in 1994 - died last month.
